Calamus Root

Calamus root also goes by the folk names of sweet flag, sweet grass, myrtle flag, and gladdon. It has been used magically for luck, healing, money, and protection. It is said that placing the root in the corners of the kitchen protect against hunger. In my own magical work, I have found it incredible for increasing the power of my spells. Throw a little of this into your magical working and it's like adding a steel foundation to your work.

Calamus is also said to be one of the ingredients in the ancient Egyptian recipe for Kyphi incense.
