Frankincense Tears
Frankincense (boswellia carterii resina) is a delightfully fragrant resin that comes from the boswellia tree. The tree is known for its ability to grow in extremely harsh conditions so that it even, at times, appears to be growing out of rock.
Frankincense has a long history and has been traded for more than 5000 years. Though frankincense and myrrh tend to bring up certain religious connotations to the western mind, they have been in active use as magical incenses, religious tools, and for their healing properties since at least 1500bc. The Egyptians used charred frankincense as one of the ingredients in their black kohl eyeliner.
Frankincense Tears are used for: meditation, protection, purification, and consecration. You can burn the tears directly on a charcoal tablet for a pure and fragrant incense, or you can grind the frankincense into a powder using a coffee grinder and mix it into your other magical applications. 1 oz.
