| Gerald Gardner (1884-1964) is often considered the father of modern day Wicca. The true origins of Wicca are not exactly known and often the subject of controversy, but Gardner's "Book of Shadows" has been a wellspring of inspiration for modern day pagans of many paths.
Traditional Gardnerian Wicca is Initiatory in nature. Thus the Gardnerian Tradition requires Initiation into an active Gardnerian Coven in order to be truly understood. However, we hope you will enjoy these pages from Gardner's original Book of Shadows.
Gardner's writing is an interesting reference for those trying to understand the advent of Wicca today. |
